About The Artist
Illustrator, Designer, Educator, Business Creative
Dana Duncan is an illustrator and designer who's work channels her love of animals, nature, and retro styles with it's whimsical flair.
Growing up in SoCal, she amused her parents by befriending all the stray cats in the neighborhood and memorizing the names of all known dinosaurs. Her art obsession became apparent when she started drawing all the time, and all of her childhood requests were for art supplies. Fast forward to the 90's when she got her fist computer and she was off and running as a digital artist.
Dana has adopted many kinds of pets over the years; birds, fish, iguanas, spiders, hamsters, dogs, cats, and even a praying mantis named Ripley that she rescued from her backyard during a storm. Owls are her spirit animal, and she rescued one of those too. She lives with her two cats and goldfish friends.
As a self taught digital artist (she learned this stuff before YouTube) she has developed a fun, unique style that mixes pop culture and art history along with animals and nature. Vector art is her medium of choice and she primarily used Adobe Illustrator to make her creations.
She has found fulfillment by working as design educator and she shares her unique passion for digital illustration by being a professor at one of the top design schools in the US.
When she is not designing surface patterns she also designs enamel pins and other products for the online store.
